A: WATCH THE VIDEOS FIRST! IF YOU HAVEN’T YET, THEN TAKE THE TIME TO GO THROUGH THEM BEFORE USING THE TOOL. IT’S VERY IMPORTANT!
Q: HOW DO I KNOW WHERE TO PRESS?
A: WATCH THE VIDEOS AND READ THE MANUAL. RELEASING THE "SHORT" MUSCLES FIRST IS CRUCIAL TO SUCCESS, SO DON'T JUST PRESS WHERE IT HURTS. RELEASING THE ENDS (TENDONS) OF THE MUSCLES FIRST WILL GIVE YOU THE FASTEST AND BEST RESULTS.
Q: WHAT DOES A “RELEASE” FEEL LIKE?
A: IT WILL FEEL LIKE A SOFTENING OR MELTING SENSATION. YOU WILL BE ON THE SAME AREA OF SKIN, BUT THE TISSUES UNDERNEATH WILL MOVE AND SEPARATE FROM EACH OTHER. IT MIGHT BE A BIT UNCOMFORTABLE AT FIRST, BUT IT SHOULDN’T HURT AND MAY EVEN FEEL GOOD.
Q: HOW HARD SHOULD I PRESS?
A: HARD ENOUGH TO FEEL PRESSURE OR PULLING – LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING HARD OR ROPY THAT IS PUSHING BACK AGAINST YOU. SOMETIMES YOU MAY FEEL A MILD BURNING SENSATION. IT MAY FEEL A BIT UNCOMFORTABLE OR IT MAY FEEL LIKE NOTHING IS HAPPENING.
Q: HOW DO I KNOW IF I’M ON THE RIGHT SPOT?
A: WIGGLE YOUR BODY (OR THE TOOL) SIDE TO SIDE OR UP AND DOWN. IF YOU ROLL OVER SOMETHING ROPY THEN THAT IS WHERE YOU WANT TO APPLY PRESSURE.
Q: HOW LONG DO I WAIT FOR A RELEASE?
A: UNTIL THE SENSATION OF PRESSURE/TENSION FADES (USUALLY THIS IS ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS, BUT CAN BE LONGER IF AN AREA IS EXTREMELY RESTRICTED). ONCE YOU FEEL A RELEASE, CHANGE YOUR ANGLE OR MOVE AROUND ON THE TOOL TO FIND A NEW SPOT AND REPEAT THE PROCESS.
Q: SHOULD IT HURT?
A: NO. SOME DISCOMFORT IS NORMAL BUT THE ONLY TIME IT SHOULD CAUSE PAIN IS IF YOU ARE TRYING TO SEPARATE/RELEASE SCAR TISSUE. THIS PAIN WILL BE SHARP OR INTENSE BUT BRIEF – IT SHOULD NOT LAST MORE THAN 5-10 SECONDS.
Q: WHAT IF IT HURTS LONGER THAN THAT?
A: YOU ARE LIKELY PRESSING ON THE WRONG AREA. THIS IS YOUR BODY SAYING THAT SOMETHING ELSE NEEDS TO BE RELEASED FIRST. CHOOSE A DIFFERENT AREA TO RELEASE.
Q: WHERE SHOULD I START?
A: FOLLOWING THE VIDEOS IN ORDER IS A GUIDELINE, BUT YOU CAN RELEASE THE MUSCLES IN ANY ORDER, AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T HURT TO DO SO.
Q: IT HURTS MY BACK TO LIE FACE DOWN ON THE TOOL. HOW CAN I PUT LESS PRESSURE ON THE TOOL WHEN LYING ON TOP OF IT?
A: YOU CAN LESSEN THE AMOUNT OF WEIGHT YOU’RE PUTTING ON THE TOOL BY LOWERING YOUR UPPPER BODY. TRY PUTTING YOUR ARMS UNDER YOUR CHEST INSTEAD OF RESTING YOUR WEIGHT ON YOUR ELBOWS.
